[Fixed Link] How GKS Changed My Life
We noticed the link below is not working so we have fixed it. Go here: https://scholarsacademie.com
When I failed to secure the GKS scholarship in my first application in 2014, I thought it was the end of my dream to help my impoverished family. However, I tried again in 2015, won the scholarship, and now my life and my family's lives have changed forever.
From birth until I was 15, I lived a life between poverty and middle class. My parents worked abroad, and I studied in a public school in the Philippines. This changed when my parents lost their jobs and returned to the Philippines without any savings, just as I graduated from high school. This meant I could no longer continue my education into college.
I remember my grandmother breaking the news to me. She said, “Son, you can no longer study. You need to start working.” At 16, I tried looking for jobs in the fast-food industry, but I was a shy boy, and no one wanted to hire me. Instead, I contacted my previous classmates and asked if they had projects they wanted to delegate to me. I offered to do these projects for them in exchange for payment.
I earned some money from doing projects like filmmaking, photography, essays, art, etc. I hoped this money would help me get into university, but it was not enough. Transportation and daily expenses prevented me from even pursuing a full scholarship, which is already very rare in the country.
That's when I realized maybe I was not meant to study in my country. Perhaps there was an organization outside the Philippines that could help someone like me. When I failed my first attempt at GKS in 2014, I was devastated. So, I dedicated one year to studying what makes a winning application. I interviewed over a hundred previous winners, studied their essays, practiced interviews every week, learned Korean, participated in several competitions, and improved every single aspect of my application. By the time I applied in 2015, I won the scholarship, and I knew my life was going to change forever.
Fast forward to 2024, I have been living in Korea for eight years, working as a product manager in an AI company for almost two years, and I am destined to cofound a company in the United States. We have currently received funding of over 100,000,000 won.

Winning GKS has opened so many doors that I never knew existed. I’ve met Nobel Prize winners, company CEOs, professors in and out of Korea, traveled to several countries, and helped my family in the Philippines recover from poverty slowly. I still have a long way to go, but I know I am destined for something greater because now doors have opened the possibility for more. I do not take these opportunities for granted, and every day I am grateful for what I have.

I know there are other students out there who also dream of changing their lives. That is why I founded Scholars Academie, to help any student achieve their dreams of studying in Korea without having to try more than once. Over the past five years, I have mentored students and helped more than 120 of them win the GKS scholarship. They now live and study in Korea, and some have already started families, businesses, and other ventures. I am glad to have helped spark their new lives.

I continue to mentor students today, ensuring their GKS applications are flawless. Most students think their applications are perfect, but only after failing do they realize they made small but detrimental mistakes, such as choosing the wrong universities or tracks. Some also don’t know they can write their own letters of recommendation and have their recommenders sign them. Through our program, students can see previous winners’ essays and receive guidance from start to finish. All students who have undergone our mentorship have learned many things they couldn’t find anywhere on the internet, which eventually helped them win GKS.
For this reason, I am offering 30 more students a free 7-day GKS Mentorship. Just go to our website and apply: https://scholarsacademie.com
This is on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure you apply right away. See you in our mentorship program and join other students as soon as you can.
